We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Business Development (BD) Manager to join our expanding Biocides, REACH & Chemicals Teams in Europe.
The purpose of this role is to be proactive, seek out and act upon potential leads to maximize business development opportunities, secure new contracts and expand our international client base; to promote services and have a clear sight of market trends in relation with other BD team members.
You will work closely with the Regulatory Managers and Scientific Experts Teams within the Regulatory Affairs department and the Commercial & Marketing team at Staphyt group level. A joined up and consistent approach is needed across all areas of expertise, so proactive communication and strong team working skills are essential.
Main duties:
Managing the ongoing relationship with the client, and being the commercial interface between project managers and clients
Securing repeat business from existing clients
Prospecting for new clients and networking with
Undertaking visits and meetings to existing & prospective clients to present our services, understand their needs and raise awareness of what services we can offer
Providing regulatory advice and strategy as first approach
Representing the business at conferences and promoting our services
Working with the wider team to estimate the resources needed to deliver projects for our clients, and coordinating the provision of quotes
Leading and taking decisions on contract negotiation and oversight of the commercial relationship with the client
Working closely with our Marketing team to raise our profile, and providing input into marketing materials
Description du profil
Skills and experience required:
Essential
Relevant scientific degree
At least 5 years experience in Biocides and/or REACH sector of the EU/UK regulatory regime, preferably gained within industry and/or consultancy
Working knowledge of the EU/UK regulatory procedures in the Biocides and/or REACH sector(s) to be able to discuss and fully understand client needs in order to give appropriate regulatory advice, strategy and ballpark estimation of development budget
Evidence of ability to build and maintain strong and professional relationships with prospective and existing clients
Ability to work in partnership with clients, as well as 3rd party suppliers
Strategic awareness
Team player with strong decision-making skills, keen to be part of a geographically dispersed team and to work in an international business environment
Be a good communicator
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Desirable
Understanding of regulatory frameworks in other jurisdictions or other sectors ('REACH-like', plant protection products, fertilizers, biostimulants, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, …)
Knowledge of IUCLID
