Engineering Manager (H/F) Saint-Gobain

Reporting to the Director of Projects & Industrialization, The Engineering Manager will provide engineering expertise and support to Saint Gobain Isover industrial investment projects. The position is based at the Technical headquarter in Rantigny (France) and can be combined with a balanced homeworking. Travel is expected to be about 25% of the time in average.

Main responsibilities:

• Support implementation of new Project Management/Engineering processes and tools
• Ensure scope understanding and alignment with business needs and stakeholders
• Participate/Manage the front-end engineering for selected Capex projects from concept- till detailed design, defining the (integrated) solution for the project.
• Foster Design, Safety and more generally Capex optimization (Value Engineering) during project reviews
• Generate own insights and recommendations to further optimize reliability, quality and costs of the project
• Produce and/or validate the documents required for the cost estimate.
• As project manager, evaluating the required staffing and project risks during the different project phases
• Evaluate site conditions, through site visits, tie-ins in general, and other items that could impact the project design and constructability.
• Participate to the development of in-house concepts (modular approach) for specific workshops, as well as design of in-house equipment

The Engineering Manager needs to be innovative and creative in managing Engineering, Capex, and improvement projects.

• Education and background

• Solid technical academic background with a degree in Engineering (or comparable by experience)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar medium to large size businesses with the emphasis on a multi-site and international environment
• Experience in industries in the field of glass, mining industry, cement, glass, ceramic or steel, to name a few. A similar experience built in engineering consulting groups would also be relevant.
